Two Methods for Sublimation Printing on Shot Glasses

Sublimation printing on shot glasses can be done using either a tumbler press or an oven. With the tumbler press method, the first step is to create a design using graphic design software. Then, the sublimation heat press needs to be heated up to the appropriate temperature, usually around 380°F, and the pressure set to the appropriate level. The next step is to wrap the sublimation paper around the shot glass and use heat-resistant tape to secure it in place. Once the shot glass is in the heat press, apply pressure for a set amount of time, usually around 3-5 minutes, and then the beautiful shot glass is ready.

Alternatively, the oven method also starts with creating a design using graphic design software. The next step is to cut out the design from the sublimation paper and wrap it around the shot glass, making sure it's centered and straight. Heat-resistant tape is used to secure the paper in place, and it is then fixed with sublimation film. After preheating the oven to 380°F, the shot glass is placed on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone mat. The baking sheet with the shot glass is then put into the preheated oven and baked for 8-10 minutes. Once the time is up, the shot glass is removed from the oven, and the sublimation paper is carefully peeled off, leaving the design transferred onto the shot glass.

It's important to clean the shot glass before printing to ensure a clean transfer. Using rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner can help ensure that the shot glass is free of any dust, fingerprints, or oils.
